Why lead from the four-card hand here, when every earlier lesson led towards the honour?

• Because dummy always leads when it is longer
• To make the long defender commit a high card, so the short hand's honour can drop it
• Because the nine cannot win a trick any other way
• To keep the lead in dummy for later
