Forcing a short honour out
Ace and a small one in dummy; jack, ten and three small in your hand. The king and queen are both missing and you cannot finesse for either of them — there is nothing to lead towards.
What you can do is make a defender spend an honour on air. If either of them was dealt a doubleton king or queen, the second round of the suit forces it out and your jack-ten then only has one honour left to beat.
