The course
The intra-finesse
Step 1 of 4
One finesse to set up another
Ace, eight, four in dummy; king, nine, three, two in your hand. The queen, jack and ten are all missing and you want three of the seven tricks.
There is nothing to finesse for yet — you are missing three cards in a row and cannot pick any of them off. So make a position rather than looking for one: lose a trick on purpose, in the direction that leaves you something to finesse afterwards.
Take 3 tricks.
Dummy
Lead from either hand.
Play a card from either hand. Play the line you would play — nothing here is scored, and you can start the suit again whenever you like.
