The jack that is not a finesse
Ace, king and a small one opposite jack and two small. The queen is missing, and the jack looks like it might be worth something. It is not — not the way you are about to be tempted to play it.
Lead the jack out and West covers with the queen. Your ace and king take it, and the third trick you were hoping for has gone. The only chance this holding has is that the queen falls under the top cards.
